Direct X error in games

Gigabyte / M61pme-s2p

Specs: Windows XP, 2.712 GHz / 2047 MB

I have upgraded my pc from Win XP to Win 7 Ultimate & now I am unable to run games which were installed earlier. The error message is : d3dx9_29.dll is missing or xinput1_3.dll missing. I am aware that it is some error with Direct X.
I have uninstalled & reinstalled the games & tried compatibility settings but still I get the error. However I am able to play some games without doing any changes. Direct X 11 is currently installed.

What should I do to be able to play the games?

Are your system specs up to date? Just checking, since you did say you upgraded your OS.

Could you list exactly what games work and which don't work?

"...tried compatibility settings..."

I'm assuming you mean Windows Compatibility Mode:

If not, definitely try this.

"...Direct X 11 is currently installed."

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled DirectX? This might fix the issue, and would at least guarantee that you have the most updated version.

Oh, and are all your graphics drivers up to date?

Please post your system specs. Are you still running the M61pme-s2p? Do you at least have a gaming graphics card installed? The integrated Geforce 6100 is old news & never was good for gaming, plus 2GB RAM isn't enough memory.

Sounds like DX 11 =/= DX 9. If you can specifically reinstall a DX 9 version, it might help.
