Did you get used to 144hz or is there a problem?

Hello, I finally got a 144hz monitor with a nice vid card a couple of weeks ago and after using 60hz for so many year I was blown away at how silky smooth the gameplay was in my favorite FPS games. I could see motion that I never seen before and could look around a room without the screen looking choppy.

I haven't changed a single setting or hardware, still using DisplayPort but now things are looking choppy again. I checked the settings and its still at 144hz and the gaming keeps a steady 250 fps but if I look around a room now it looks like there are frames being skipped. I have a new backup mouse and switched to it and it looked the same. So is it that I got used to it or do you think there is a problem? Do your games still look as smooth as the first day you used 144hz?
