CPU not fast enough for my new game.

April 12, 2011 at 20:24:07
Specs: Windows 7, 2.4
Call me and idiot, but I bought new game recently and didn't check the system requirements before I bought it. I got it home to discover it requires a 2.4ghz CPU and mine is only a 2.1ghz.

Without replacing the CPU (because I've checked and it's not possible with my laptop) or overclocking it, is there anyway that I can make the game work properly?

It loads and plays fine for a while, but keeps crashing. Will lowering the graphics and things help?

well, there is no other way, your spec is it is, I mean there is no way to reduce the game requirements... try overclocking a little of it, It wont hurt your PC much >.>

You can't overclock a laptop. We need to know which 2.1GHz CPU you have - Celeron, Pentium, Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Sempron, Athlon64, Turion, etc, etc, etc. Rather than playing 20 questions, how about posting the make/model of your laptop & the name of the game (or games) you're trying to play?

It's a Toshiba L500, it's got a Pentium Duel Core 2.1ghz processor, I'm running Windows 7 and the game I'm trying to play is The Sims 3.

U have passed the system requirements http://www.thesims3.com/game/systemreq .
Try updating video and sound driver(uninstall the old one restart the system and install new driver) and make sure u have latest direct x, .net framework, microsoft visual c++ redistributable.
