Specs: Windows XP
im sick of my computer constantly shutting itself down in the middle of playing games which require java such as runescape. i know for a fact it is not a hawdware issue so dont mention that but it seems to have something to do with java running cuz when java is not running i never have a problem and any other game works perfectly. i have the latest version of java, quad core processor, 4gb ram, etc. this is a new computer and java seems to be the only thing tripping it out can someone please help me. thanks

Shut down issues are *usually* related to an overburdened power supply or an overheating CPU, so how about listing your system specs? Especially the video card & the PSU? And when listing the PSU, don't just give wattage, the amperage specs are more important. What's the CPU temp?

well it usually runs between 42-52°C which after testing about 6 other computers is normal around here. well all of my equipment is new so i'll list it as on the box.

power supply: Titan 1000
specs: 1000W, 12V, below as read on sticker
AC Input 115/230V 50/60Hz 6A/4A
DC Output (Max) +3.3V +5V +12V1 +12V2 -12V +5Vsb
(these line up with the above values) 36A 37A 27A 29A 0.8A 3A

graphics card: GeForce GTX260+
specs: 896MB, 448BIT, DDR3

ok but if you say that's usually the case, can you explain why the shut down is only triggered while java is running and usually at certain points in my game? that just doesn't make sense to me.
