Computer Shuts Down During Game Play

April 26, 2010 at 17:46:19
Specs: Windows XP, 1.5g
While i play games on this laptop, the laptop
sometimes turns off in the middle of game
play. It doesn't happen every time and it
doesn't happen at any particular time either.
The computer can work anywhere from 5 min
to 6 hours. The computer doesn't shut off at all
unless I am playing a game or right after it
shuts off from the game, sometimes when i
turn it back on, it shuts off in the middle of
start up, but that only happens if i turn it on
directly after it turns off the first time. The
computer had low RAM so i got some more,
but it didn't solve the problem. I know it isn't
overheating because i have a fan system under
the laptop. Any ideas on whats happening?

"I know it isn't overheating"

Do you know because you've monitored the temp readings? or are you guessing because you have a "fan system"?

Did you disable XP's "automatically restart" setting?
