Hello Milmil42,

Well, other than the fact that you wish to use PC-only compatible The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim mods, I would suggest switching to a gaming console such as a Sony PlayStation 3 or Microsoft Xbox 360. If you are tech-savvy, you could browse Newegg and purchase the parts that would meet Skyrim's system specifications and build the PC yourself, or look through their pre-built desktop and laptop computers available for purchase. (Portable computer section) (Desktop computer section)

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim recommended system specifications:

Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit)

Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU

4 GB System RAM

6 GB free HDD space

DirectX 9 compatible NVIDIA or AMD ATI video card with 1GB of RAM.

DirectX compatible sound card

Internet access for Steam activation

I hope this will help you,

You can lower the cost of this $500 build by at least $100 by getting a cheaper video card:
