Cd Rom Gaming Problem

I have a Sims 3 cd rom to play in my dell lap top and for which Microsoft claims it stop working. What could be the problem?

    1. When Windows says ‘program has stopped working’, that means the program has crashed. This can be due to several things.
      Is that the only program that has been crashing? If others have been failing too, it is probably due to bad RAM. Run Memtest86 to check your RAM.

      Have you just tried reinstalling the game?

      Have you made sure things like DirectX are up to date?

      Have you checked the disc for scratches or smudges?
