Specs: Windows XP
I'm a college student who was desperately in need of a personal computer, so i got the acer aspire 5741-5763 a couple days ago online. i know it has an integrated graphics card, and since i'm a steady gamer who at least wants to enjoy games such as Starcraft 2 on medium, i want to know if the motherboard containing the graphics card be removed, and a newer, more powerful one used to replace it. if that is possible, can i please get the names of a mother board i can use?

Why would you buy a brand new laptop & then immediately switch out the motherboard? If you wanted a laptop for gaming, that's what you should have gotten. What you're proposing is ridiculous.

What you want is not practical, even if it were possible. It is unlikely that such a motherboard is available and even if it were the cost would be prohibitive. The only things that can be upgraded on most laptops are RAM, CPU, and HD.

You could always install DOSBOX and play lovely MS-DOS Games.....

hhhm. maybe i should have been more specific. the fact is, i had no say whatsoever as to what kind laptop i was getting. being strapped for cash, i accepted the help of a benevolent uncle, who bought this specific laptop for me online. once again, i had no say. the general specs of the machine are as follows:
* Intel Core i3-3500 processor (2.26GHz, 3MB, L3 cache)
* Intel HD Graphics (Up to 1755 MB DVMT)
* 15.6” HD LED LCD (16:9 Widescreen) (True Cinematic View)
* 4 GB Memory
* 320 GB HDD
* DVD-Super Multi DL Drive
* 5-in-1 Memory Card Reader
* Integrated Crystal Eye Webcam
* 3 USB Ports
* HDMI Port
* VGA
* 6-cell Li-ion Battery
a decent laptop overall. apart from the integrated graphics card. and thats my problem. once again i say this, i had no choice but to accept the laptop. but i do have the option of trying to get a better motherboard with a better integrated chip on it. once again, any suggestions for a motherboard?
