Specs: Windows 7
I unintalled the game and now there in not an install option on the dvd, only uninstall. I have tried every fix offered by activision, like registry cleanup, downloading latest drivers, and verifying direct x.
I can load game from file menu, but when I open the game I get an error:Insert the right dvd and press ok. It will never recognize the dvd.
Activision does not provide 64 bit suport. Many gamers have no problem playing singles on 64 bit system.

u didn't un-install the game properly, try not to use autorun, open dvd and look for setup yourself.

I fixed the problem with the install option by deleting an Istall shield file that contaned cod4 info. Since then I installed-uninstalled four times trying it from the dvd and from the setup file. And everyu time I click on single player the same error says that the game cannot detect the cd-rom drive. For some reason it cannot detect drive B, my dvd-rom. Why not?

The FIX is: I changed the dvd-rom drive letter from B to E in the computer manager. A few months ago I changed the letter when I added some partitions. I guess CoD does not recognize drive B, but E works fine and I am playing the game at last.
