I dont understand this answer. The specs say that for Windows 7 or VISTA you need 2.4 Ghz. WIll it really run on 2.0? I am buying a pc for my granddaughter and all of the reasonably priced laptops are only 2.0 or lower. Is this game, which seems to be made for pre-teen to teen girls really only playable on an expensive pc?

Thanks. So will it play on most of the $400 range laptops that have Windows 7 as long as they have a pentium 4 processor?

not necesarily depends on the game graphic demands
it can play games but not big games that demand a lot u
it all depends on the game
simply labtops are not meant for big games since their grpahics cards are weak chips if u look to game buy a pc desktop

I have a similar issue - the laptop that I am looking to buy for my daughter comes with Windows 7 and an IntelĀ® PentiumĀ® Processor T4200 (1M Cache, 2.00 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) and an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 based on PCI Express technology - do you know whether that too will run Sims 3, please?

First check the Sims 3 website to see if the graphics card is listed. Although it's not Crysis, the Sims franchise generally demands a lot of your graphics card, this game in particular. You'll need a graphics card with Pixel Shader 2.0 to play the game. Make sure any onboard graphics also have this capability. There is a site www.canyourunit.com which will test any system to see if it will run a particular game.

In response to TJH22, how much ram does the above laptop have? You should have between 3 and 4 to play the game smoothly (based on personal experience and especially if you plan to get any of the expansion packs for the game as they increase system requirements).
