just noted that some of you had some major problem back then yet come forwards nine years and I am having freeze up on bf 42 !!
battlefield 2? if so what are your system specs(amount of RAM, Ghrapics card name & CPU name, also operating system name & if it is 32 or 64 bit)? are you trying to respond to a previous post? if so please provide a link to this post.
these are the only 2 i found from 2010:

Only wanted to know if anyone has problems with freezing up when selecting list of servers when trying to play the original bf42.
perhaps EA killed off the game on the 26th of august 2010? there only seem to be like ~4 active servers left in the world for this game hosted by players for players.
see:
https://www.gametracker.com/search/...also see the following link & especially post #37 for help:
https://www.computing.net/answers/g...in short try the following:
1 - Right click a blank bit of desktop and choose 'New'>>'Shortcut'
2 - In the wizard that pops up copy one of the links below and paste it into the blank input box:"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +restart 1 +joinServer 94.23.196.155:14567
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +restart 1 +joinServer 163.172.13.221:14567
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +restart 1 +joinServer 163.172.13.221:14568
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +restart 1 +joinServer 79.171.120.137:14567
3- give the new shortcut a name - like BF1942 TDM or CQ
4 - doubleclick the new shortcut to play(not sure if bf42 should not be running before hand)

Thanks for the info, I was playing ok on bf42 servers up until 2 weeks ago.
have you tried something like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ex_...& perhaps asking the question again in a dedicated bf42 forum might help.
I do not own a copy of bf42, so i can not test this myself :/
