I know a solution for this issue, I was playing the game and had the same issue. First find the file: Game.exe
Look in C:/Program Files/EA Games/Harry Potter and the Chamber Of Secrets/
to find Game.exe or else if this is an illegal version, look for your folder where you downloaded the game and find Game.exe in the program's folders.
Look for this file first.
Once you have found Game.exe right click the file and click re-name. Change the name Game.exe to something like potter2.exe and try to run the game again. Just change the Game.exe file to a name other than Game.exe and it should trick the computer into thinking that this is not the Game.exe process which is causing the fault. Let me know if this helps you.
