Solved Windows would not load Consumer IR devices driver. Error 31

Specs: Windows 7
I downloaded a software called My lockbox. However, after installing it I found it caused a error 31 message with my consumer IR device and meant I could not log in except in safe mode. When I uninstalled the program I was able to log back in. What is causing the conflict? I use Windows 7. Also I can no longer see the Consumer IR devices in Device manager. As it stands, I have logged back in normally even though it is not showing. My laptop is an HP Pavilion DV7 3112SA.-E. As I understand it, Consumer IR devices is not essential unless your needing to use remote. I assume then I can use my laptop without it, but what I want to know is why the software above mentioned caused the issue?

LockBox probably not compatible with Windows 7, but you really need to be asking the application developer, not us.

No need to worry about the IR entry in Device Manager. Only required if you want to use an external IR device with your laptop, very unlikely.

Thanks very much Phil for your reply. It said LockBox was compatible with Windows 7, nonetheless my operating system didn't seem to like it. It's not the most important thing in the world anyway; the functioning of my laptop and OS is more important. And I thought I didn't need to worry really about the IR entry; I wanted confirmation on that to be sure so much appreciated.
