Every few hours Windows 8 updates my working WiFi driver (Atheros AR5006GS Wireless Network Adaptor 14/12/2009) to a new one which doesn't work.

I then have no internet so I have to go to the Device Manager click on the Network Adaptor and Roll Back the driver,

Can I stop it trying to update this one driver?
Can't Windows 8 recognise that if it's "fixed" something that works it needs to undo it?!

Change your settings for Windows Automatic Updates, so that it notifies you when updates are available but doesn't install them without your permission.

You will then be able to review the list of updates and de-select any you don't want Windows to install.

Either that or turn off Automatic Updates completely (which I have always done on every Windows version I've used). In my view it is better to visit Microsoft Update when it's convenient to me, so I can see a list and choose which updates I want.
