Windows 7 Home premium multimedia controller driver help

September 3, 2013 at 12:31:14
Specs: Windows 7
Checked devgmt.msc when my sound stopped working. Found an error on a device in the 'other devices' section. this particular device was named 'multimedia controller'. I looked into it and it said:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.

To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.

I clicked update driver and browsed the computer and the internet in options but it found nothing. If anyone could help me find the driver software needed for this it would help. Thanks, miny.

The multimedia audio controller is the audio driver, thus why the sound isn't working. The driver files should still be on your computer. Open the Update Driver wizard, select "Browse my computer for driver software", then in the search location box type in C:\ and then make sure the "search subfolders" checkbox is checked. Click next, and report back of whether it finds the driver.
