win dvd maker not burning

Specs: Windows Vista
dvd maker goes through the full process and the end says "burn successfull" but the disc is still blank, i have tried different disc brands.

Make sure your burning software (WinDVD Creator or whatever) is not set to do a "simulated" burn. In this setting it doesn't really burn anything to the disc, it just "pretends" to write to the disc so you can check that the burning speed is not too high etc. before doing a "real" burn.

The purpose of the "simulated" burn is that it avoids wasting discs if, for example, you set the burning speed to high or got some other setting wrong.
