Specs: Windows 7, IntelQuadcore 2.8 GHz
My HP Deskjet All-in-One printer scanner does not work properly. Namely scanning does not work. I tried to re-install the software, but that does not work, without re-installing it says installation finished. With HP Support Assistant the de-installation does not work and rolls back, then ends with the advice to un-install with Windows uninstall feature from the Controil Panel. That does not work either, rolls back and says it cannot do the uninstall. Software remains visible in Programs and Features. What can I do to get the old software out, so that a full re-installation becomes possible ? Thank you for any help. W

Best to use the HP tools to uninstall all HP files prior to attempting a re-installation. Click on the link below to learn how.

I had already tried to uninstall all the pertaining software with Revo uninstaller, including its hunter mode, and IOBit uninstaller but they do not uninstall either, so that was the reason I put my question in the first place.

HP has an un-install-re-install tool available, but even that does not work, because the un-install file is not there. Simple installation over the existing software ends in not installing the software again because there is "something" on my PC that prevents that, something that was put there by the first installation.

How to get my PC to accept a new installation ?

Hewlett Packard does not have the possibility to get e-mail support (very bad service), telephone support in my country does not work either (extremely bad service). This is why I asked Computing.net.

Have you downloaded the Full Feature driver file DJ1510_188.exe manually so that you have a copy of it? Or are you using the online "Let HP identify any out-of-date or missing drivers" method? I suggest the manual download method. There are also 2 Basic driver downloads available - one for x86 (32-bit), the other for x64 (64-bit).
