video card installation issue

January 19, 2010 at 10:16:13
Specs: Windows XP, 512mb
Ok, i have a problem, i successfuly opened up my computer (Dell Dimension 5000) but i saw no slots available for my video card! Why and what can or should i do now? Maybe i didnt check properly but im 100% sure there was no slot.

There were two white slots available and above another black/green whatever slot that was a bit too small for my video card. One section of my video card has output slots that should stick out and appear at the rear of my computer....

Maybe my video card isnt compatible???!

Video card i want to install which i took out from my old pc

Model name: GP9200T-128M
Chipset: RADEON 9200SE, 128MB DDR,
Core Clock: 200MHz
D-Sub TV-OUT, DVI

current Information on my video card if there is even one:

Name: Unknown
GPU: Unknown
Subvendor: 0
GPU Clock: MB

For now i want to run basic games like Rise of Nations, Cossacks or Pirates of the Carribean to keep me going untill i buy a better pc for medieval total war, flight simulator, etc.

Thank you

erm basically i just checked now and it seems like i have 2 white ones (like the one in the image) and above that a black one which could maybe be a pci express bus slot?

So maybe i have pci and pci express bus slots instead of my AGP video card???

Is this where my issue originates?

So what can or should i do now? Do i have to buy a video card in match with a pci bus slot?

Which graphics card did you buy ?

We need the maker and model of the card.....then we`ll be able to say if it will work in the PCI or PCI-E Slot

And yes....the black one should be the PCI-E Slot, and the white are PCI Slots....

erm basically i never bought it but took it out of my other old PC. The reason why i want to install it on this pc is that this one hasnt even got a video card installed in it and i know that i can play better games if i install this video card, however, i dont have the CD for this graphics card but i could probably find the drivers needed at the RADEON website...

I tried every dimension and way but the AGP video card is too big for any slots

Thanks

Try like this: Check the slot on the old computer and see if you can find the same thing on the computer you`re trying to install the GPU on....if you can`t find it, most likely the graphics card can`t work on your computer....
