Solved To printing problems to windows / services problems

Specs: Windows XP home service pack 3, pentium 4 2.80 ghz
Well my problem right now that I am encountering all revolves with the uninstalling / installing lexmark printer. I have gone into printer spool services and is started, when I check to see the dependencies it freezes up thus I shut down my comp. I came across another lexmark service lxdn. blah blah and had stopped service of which had again made the service window freeze. I have also clicked the printer/faxes icon and one again it froze up. I really need to get this printer going. but afraid to install for the 5th time due to the fact that it seems that the software does not completely install. I have tried uninstalling but it also freezes when doing this as well. I would like to first correct these problems and follow some advice on my situation at hand. I have also restored my computer to an earlier time but nothing. I had used this printer in the past without any problems with the installation.

Thank you, your help will be greatly appreciated!

It could be that your Windows installation has several problems which have accumulated over time, causing instability & errors. I suggest you re-install Windows or perform a factory recovery so you have a clean and fresh Windows installation with no errors or malware.

Thank you pip22 for taking the time to help me with finding a solution. However after hours of reading almost everything about my the previous problem I have made a few changes that are necessary in order for the printer to be recognized and it does not freeze up anymore on that end. However it still freeze up when clicking on the printer/fax icon in control panel still. I have previously installed this cheap printer once before on my computer and under the services deptmnt. I have noticed that there is a lexmark service and would like to know if this should be set like all the rest that involve using this device and all its components, if it should be automatic/ started before uninstalling.
