Realtek mixer panel. No sliders

May 3, 2014 at 09:30:59
Specs: Windows XP, Pentium D 3.5gb 3gb ram
Realtek HD Audio. (Windows XP)I discovered that all the input sliders in the mixer panel were missing so had no control of the various inputs. I checked the driver and discovered it was updated in Dec 2013 and realised that I hadn’t used it for a couple of months so hadn’t noticed the problem. Going to device manager and selecting Realtek, I rolled back to the previous driver, re-booted and “hey presto” everything returned to normal.

Glad you fixed it.

never update a driver just because a newer version is available - - that's not a good reason to update it. if existing driver works okay, stick with it.

Only update a driver if existing one is causing problems.
