printer not recognizing computer

September 15, 2011 at 17:15:28
Specs: Windows Vista, 4.00
I have a HP dv7 1448 dx laptop and am trying to install a okidata ML 380 printer (a 24 pin printer). The printer had a parallel port so I went to best buy and was givin a 36 pin parallel converter to usb. The printer is listed in my computer and says I have the drivers for it but I get an error and it won't print. No error number is given. Is my problem the 36 pin parallel converter or is it an outdated driver? thanks

Few computers have a parallel port these days which is what you need to install that printer so that it will work. The parallel-to-usb converter is evidently not the solution.
