Do you actually manually start setup from the unzipped files; as in click on the setup.exe file?

As soon as the files are un-zipped, they disappear somewhere I had no problem installing the printer on my HP pavillion G6, but it will no run on my wife's Lenovo.

Do you know the name of any of the files that will be installed; including the setup.exe (it may be something other than setup.exe)?

Often setup files for printers end up in a temp folder; have you checked through "all" temporary folders? Also perhaps do a search for any files added/installed "today" or whenever you run the setup routine...?

If you check on "your" computer for any one of the files involved in the setup/installation and then search for it on your wife's Lenovo... possibly you will then find where the rest of them are; including setup.exe?

Also are you both on the same operating system - you appear to be win-7; or is the Lenovo on say win-8x.. and the drivers you have are not for win-8x?

Incidentally these days - most printer manufacturers are very specific about when one connects the printer (via usb initially); and then later of course for network driver set up. Canon are very specific about this; and if one doesn't do it all in the order and manner they outline then it won't work; no setup... Having setup (installed) two Canon all-in-ones in the recent past (different models) I know they mean what they say... Possibly HP are similar; even if you managed to do it another way for your computer?

Good to hear...and thank you posting back... Feed back often helps others who may find a given post here anon (often via a Google or similar trawl).

Problem with a lot of self-extracting software (drivers not the least) is that the supplier doesn't provide adequate info about what the unzipping process will do and where it will dump the files...
