Re-install the printer driver software from scratch (do not use "Add Printer", run the printer installation CD).

Before doing so, uninstall the existing printer driver, unplug the printer from the USB port & turn printer off. Now restart Windows.

Now (still with the printer USB disconnected and printer turned off) start installing the printer driver. Connect the printer and turn it on only when a message appears telling you to do so.

If print spooler error still appears, go into Windows Services and make sure Print Spooler is set to "Automatic", then click it's "Start" button.
Finally, click 'OK' to close the services console.

To get into Windows Services:
Click the "Start Orb", then click "Run".
Type services.msc and click 'OK'.
The list is in alphabetical order, with "Print Spooler" approximately halfway down.
