No Sound From SoundMax Integrated Audio

September 28, 2012 at 16:49:12
Specs: Windows XP, Intel(R)Core(TM)2 CPU
I have no sound from SoundMax Integrated digital audio. When I plug my headphones/ speakers into the needed jack, it shows up saying it is in the wrong jack, I have tried all of the jacks and it shows the same thing. This just happened yesterday and It is getting annoying to not be able to listen to anything off my computer. My computer is a custom built one that has different brand items in it.

Try re-installing the sound driver.

Where you download it from is very important to ensure you get the right one:

* If the sound adapter is "on-board", download the sound driver from the motherboard manufacturer's website.

* If it's a soundcard that sits in a PCI/PCI-e slot, download the driver from the card manufacturer's website.

PS - thanks for mentioning that your PC is custom-built. That kind kind of info is very helpful to us where drivers are concerned. Many people don't seem to realise that when they post here about a driver problem.
