No Internet after vista to XP downgrade

August 27, 2011 at 20:58:44
Specs: Windows XP PRO +service pk 2
Vista to XP no Internet. Compaq CQ5110Y.

I deleted vista partitions then installed XP. Now there's no Internet. I went to get the network drivers and transferred the download file via flash drive. When I run the program I get an error. The file came from what seems like a reliable source. But the manufacturer website only provides a single useless download for this model using XP. Any thoughts?

... try this XP >> driver from HP website first!

... also found: http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce...
****************************************************
... for broadband ethernet insert XP CD

... from cd menu click "install optional windows components"

... [OR go to control panel add/remove programs add/remove windows components]

... check "networking services" [also double click it]

... check "internet gateway device discovery and control client"

Thanks, but neither of those worked. The link brout me to a dead download. And the opt. Windows components did not create a network. Where I'm at now, is that the computer does not detect the Ethernet connection that's plugged into it. And yes there are three other computers usng the same Router/modem so those components are working fine.

"...The link brout me to a dead download..."

... @ the hp link click the black box with download in white "it works"

... the second, one has to check "I have read and agree to the terms and conditions"

... both download.
