Specs: Windows 7, AMD Turion64 x2 2 GB 2 GHz
I just upgraded my machine from Vista to Windows 7 and not all of the devices came through smoothly.

I have three devices listed as "unknown" and can't seem to find out what drivers I should install. They are titled as follows:

Base System Device:
Location: PCI Bus 7 Device 5 Function 2

Base System Device
Location: PCI Bus 7 Device 5 Function 3

Coprocessor:
PCI Bus 0 Device 1 Function 3

I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 Entertainment Laptop.

Could anyone help me figure out which devices these are?

Thanks,

Did you run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor before upgrading as it would have flagged up any non-compatible devices which you could have dealt with beforehand?

Windows 7 needs updated drivers and there's some hardware for which Windows 7 drivers don't exist (and never will in some cases).

Furthermore, HP computers use custom drivers supplied by HP themselves. If they do not have Windows 7 drivers for your model (and I just checked, they don't), it's not advisable to put Windows 7 on it, since drivers from elsewhere may not work properly, if at all.

There are utilities that can identify unknown devices, but some of them won't run on Windows 7. These will:

Actually, I fixed everything just fine using HP's website and some Vista drivers.

For anyone else looking for help on this issue here is the site where I found the best resolution:

Thanks for your help.
