my second harddrive is gone from my computer

Specs: Windows 7
ok so i don't know what happened while that computer was up both of my hard drives worked and were shown in "my computer" but now the second hard drive doesn't show up there and it also does not show up in the disk management. i have checked bios and both of my hard drives show up. there was one time where the second hard drive seemed to be re-installing but it stopped and said failed to install. but to the point my second hdd which is a 1tb sea gate hard drive just isn't showing up anymore. i have had the hard drive for a few weeks and it has worked completely fine until today it just up and basically disappeared. does anyone know how to fix this and what i am talking about i have everything plugged in and hooked up correctly but it just seems to have just disappeared i have a lot of important stuff on it so any help would be greatly appreciated.

It may have failed even though it's nearly new (it does happen). The fact that the BIOS still sees it is no guarantee that it is healthy and that's why you shouldn't rely on a single drive for storing important files.

You need at least two drives containing the same data so you always have a backup. I'm astounded at how many PC users don't bother with backups and then panic when the drive fails

Test it with SeaTools: http://www.seagate.com/gb/en/suppor...

I assume it doesn't show in Device Manager either?

You could put the dubious disk in an external enclosure (USB) and try it on another computer. If it doesn't read then we will know whether it is a faulty disk or a software issue.
