Specs: Windows XP
how do you get to the bios to enable LPT1. I'm tryig to install an old printer the uses the LPT1 plug in, not a USB but my computer isn't showing an LPT at all.

Does your PC have a LPT port on its backside?

When it exists there is no need to activate the LPT port, it is recognised automatically at boot. If your PC doesn't have a LPT port, as usual for machines of the latest generation, you need to buy a parallel to USB adapter for your printer and maybe redirect your legacy applications from LPT1 to USB, but this is another story (to be continued).

Check in the BIOS. There should be a setting to allow you to disable the parallel and serial ports. The manual for your computer should give you details.
