my diagnosis on device manager says not working properly.

Specs: Windows XP, CPU 3.00GHz 3.00GHz, 1.99 GB
I have a sound device issue? I don't know what drivers are needing to be updated or if the ones I have are corrupt. My motherboard is a ASUSTeK Computer Inc. P5PE-VM Rev 1.00 can you help me?

download and reinstall the sound driver (soundmax) for xp.

I downloaded what it said to and got a zipped file....I have no idea which file inside to use. Can you help?

When you unzip the file, in the created folder it will have an .EXE file which will install the driver package, when double clicked on.

Googling is quicker than waiting for an answer....
