Microphone and Speaker/Headphones Same Frequency

April 27, 2014 at 07:05:33
Specs: Windows Vista
So basically recently my microphone and headphones began operating on the same frequency meaning, my external mic is registering what my speakers hear. Like for example if im in a call on Skype or TS3 and someone talks while my mic is open they can hear a clear echo of what they just stated or a clear sound of whatever game I am playing. They both have IDT High Definition Audio CODEC for their controller information and I think that's where the problem occurs. If anyone can help me with this I'll be greatly appreciative. It's really nerve wrecking :(. P.S. I've tried searching the net for hours only to find nothing that helps me with this Problem

Err..speakers don't hear or listen - the microphone does that.

I doubt this is a fault at all and nothing to do with frequency. What is most likely happening is that the sound produced from your speakers is being picked up by the microphone when it is on, which is difficult to totally prevent.

One way around this is to use headphones instead which disconnect the speaker.

Otherwise it is a case of putting some more distance between your speakers and microphone, or turning down either of them a little. Turning the speakers away from the microphone might also help.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
