lexmark inkjet 4103 drivers for mac osx

Specs: Macintosh 10.7.3, 4 GB
I have MACBOOK AIR with OS 10.7 and a COMPAQ IJ600 printer (which identifies itself as a LEXMARK 4103 to my Mac). COMPAQ's download site does not seem to have any MAC compatible drivers. I tried downloading a driver from LEXMARK site, but it does not talk to the computer and print - it gives an error message that the cartridges are in the wrong slot (but they are in their "color-coded" slots, and the worked with my Dell PC so I know the cartridges ARE in the right slots.)

The Compaq Printer is manufactured by Lexmark for HP/Compaq, therefore the Firmware is modified to stop one using Lexmark Cartridges. It appears quite an old printer listing drivers only up to Windows 2000

This is the same situation with Dell Lexmark Printers, I believe it is time to go out and buy a new £35.00 HP wireless all-in-one printer:
