Specs: Win 7 64 bit/,
Although Network Sharing Center says & shows I'm connected, I still can't access the internet. It worked several days ago before I removed multiple infections. Laptop does not have an ethernet connection only wireless.

Most likely you still have infections.

See if you can get it going using Firefox (rather than Internet Explorer) because a working system is easier to fix. Save the Firefox download file on another computer then use a flash drive to transfer it onto this one. Then double click the file and see if it installs. If it gets on line with Firefox it will be easier to attend to the problem, although there are other possible ways forward.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Try opening your browser without add ons. Usually opposite click brings up this choice.

If your comfortable with tinkering check your proxy settings in Internet options under Lan settings.

Also what virus got removed, that may give a hint as to what needs to still be checked.

I finally had HP do a reinstall back to the original configuration and that took care of the problem. Had to be a corrupted file somewhere.

Works now. Thanks.
