Is there software to amplify sound?

August 22, 2011 at 20:27:34
Specs: Windows 7
I have an Asus laptop that usually isn't very loud, even when it's turned all the way up. However, some songs and shows play plenty loudly, so I know the sound card is capable of producing loud sound. Is there any kind of software that I can install that will allow me to make things play louder? Thanks!

have you checked your "mixer" settings - the
Mute boxes are Unticked? Some progs use their own mixer, and mute the system
sound-card mixer so some progs may work. otherwise try holding the blue or grey Fn button (usually bottom left) and then tapping the button with a small grey or blue volume up sign (usually the up arrow). This can turn up the manufacturers sound controls which are somtimes not as easy to find.

Hi Helenasue,

Welcome to assus technology. I had the same issue and I manage to fix it somehow.
1.Go to control panel and display it in a classical way to have a good view of what I am describing. should see REALTECH SOUND CARD and sound and audio devices. THE REALTECH will be you deal.
3.double on REALTECH SOUND CARD, you will see a panel with 3 tabs, choose the output audio and tick on loud speakers. This can help
4. you have to play with the echo part in the same tab.My advise is Forest & live.
5. accept and restart you Assus.

Come back to me if I am not clear enough.
