Ibm / lenovo T42p
May 10, 2010 at 14:04:49
Specs: Windows XP, Intel PM 1.80ghz, 1.5GB ram
Recently got a used IBM Thinkpad t42p. Installed a copy of Windows XP Home on it. Ordered a Driver CD and got most of the Drivers installed on it, but still have a few that i cant seem to get working.
Under Device Manager i still have "Ethernet Controller" missing and also under "Other devices" i have "PCI Modem" and "unknown device" without drivers.
Ive tried multiple drivers from the Lenovo website but none seem to get things working.
Any comments are appreciated.

... check out this page for some drivers. ..."Local Area Network" (LAN)
edit/...(you might have to refresh the page a couple of times for it to appear)

... also download "System Spec" (freeware)

http://www.alexnolan.net/software/s...

... download @ bottom of page

... run it and and see what you have by "network adapters"

... then download and install the appropriate drivers!

... also maybe:

... insert XP CD

... from cd menu click "install optional windows components"

... [OR go to control panel add/remove programs add/remove windows components]

... check "networking services" [also double click it]

... check "internet gateway device discovery and control client"

.
