Solved I want to increase Hp laptop video memory

April 13, 2016 at 06:14:47
Specs: Windows 7
I have an hp elitebook 8740w that currently has a mxm 3.0 ATI Firepro M7820. I just bought an nvidia quadro k3000m, also an mxm 3.0 card. However i'm worried about compatibility software wise. Will this work automatically and if not what do i need to do to get it to work?

The K3000M draws 50% more wattage (75W vs 50W) so you can expect shorter battery run-time.

I was aware of the higher power usage. Is there a possibility it will overheat or should it be alright?

Also since youre giving me driver links im assuming it will still boot after I add the new card correct?
