i just installed Windows 3.11 but display does not come up

Specs: Windows 3.11
I selected EGA for my display because i did not know how to install a generic SVGA driver. I have the driver disk and the video card is VESA.

System specs would be helpful, especially the graphics card make/model.

You would have been better off using the standard VGA driver. EGA has a lower resolution, and it is highly unlikely that you have an EGA card.

The SuperVGA driver only supports certain cards, so if you are installing on a modern PC it probably won't work. Windows 3.11 is best partnered with a computer of similar age.

I have at least two PCs of a vintage that will support win 3x happily...

I also have some very olde English pennies and a few equally olde Canadian coins too...
