I installed wrong driver for my laptop video

May 28, 2011 at 04:40:12
Specs: Windows XP, 30 gb/1g
I had a blue screen when it rebooted it had wiped my ATI files and I was getting all kinds of error messages for display. In trying to find the correct driver I found Driver Max the program selected a driver and installed it. It should have been ATI Radeon 9000 series but it installed a Catalyst instead.
Now windows doesnt come up at all. The video diagnostics at boot up show no error and it will not boot in safe mode or bring up any window. I have a dell latitude 6000 running windows xp professional.

Have you tried removing the battery and charger? Let it sit a few minutes without power.
Press the power button to drain any reserve.
Install battery - try to boot to safe mode and remove the driver.

If the boot option allows windows to restore to earlier date, might give that a go.

Does it boot from the CDROM drive OK?
