HP DeskJet 720C Series - Driver

September 27, 2010 at 17:52:53
Specs: Windows 2000 Pro v5.0 (Build 2195: Service Pack 4
PC; Windows 2000 Pro; HP DeskJet 720C v10.3 Toolbox: Printer seems to be working OK, but when I click on the printer icon (desktop), it says:

"Printer Driver Problem. Data required by the printer driver cannot be found or has been corrupted. Restart Windows and try printing again."

Rebooting changes nothing.

MAY BE RELATED OR ACTUALLY THE PROBLEM/OR DIFFERENT PROBLEM?: When shutting down the computer, it finally freezes at a DOS-blue screen with this message:

*** STOP; 0X0000009F (0X00000100, 0X89025470, 0X89025470, 0X88F7EA90) DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete. Contact your System Administrator or tech support group

(Underlying the white-print message is a colored square with no writing or image that appears to be a graphic associated with ATI; I removed ATI Catalyst Control Center or whatever that never-used-thing was, but am hesitant to uninstall the ATI Software Uninstall Utility [Settings / Control Panel / Add/Remove Program] as I don't understand its significance ... wondering if the colored square indicates the shutdown/driver issue is related to ATI ... ?)

When I power-off the PC and reboot again, Windows appears to open up successfully (all other programs seem to work as they should).

Since I'm clueless how to translate that message into common-usage English, nor do I have a System Administrator. Any thoughts/help?

Much thanks.

Uninstall and reinstall Printer Driver, the drivers should be included in W2K.

Thanks. WIN2000 came loaded on the PC when I purchased it, so I don't have a disk; is there somewhere on-line where the drivers can be downloaded?
