Please supply more details such as what happens when you try to print a document.
Do you get any error messages, and if so, what does the error say?

"I have tried applying both methods"

What do you mean by both methods?

I have installed it using the usb to laptop method without wireless and then on the other occasion I have installed it trying to connect it to the router. I want to use the printer offline so I installed it with the usb connected to the laptop and have followed all the steps correctly and the installation was successful. However, when I go to print a document nothing happens on the printer end, and a box comes up saying error-printing and nothing changes. How do I get it to work offline successfully?

If you are not able to make HP DeskJet printer online, then you need to clear the print jobs. For that, you need to double click on the Printer. Then you have to go to the ‘Printer Menu’. In that you need to select the option ‘Cancel All Documents’. Sometimes, stuck printing jobs may force the printer to go offline. You need to try once again, in order to set the printer back online and then try printing a test page.
