When Windows prompts you to format a memory card that's already been formatted it's a sure sign that the card's memory chips are corrupt. You cannot retrieve data from a card that's corrupt.

All you can do with it is throw it away and buy a new one.

Fortunately (to date) I haven't been in your situation... Hopefully never will either... I find sd and flash drives OK for short term storage - not the least of course when they're in a camera and being used to store pics... But once one gets home... wise to transfer those precious pics to DVD at least; and maybe a hard drive too?

Phil22 "may" be correct in that you may not be able to recover data from your "probably damaged" card(s).

However have a look at the hits in this google trawl.; as there are several possible approaches listed... There may be a solution that works for you... Anything you recover (whatever it may be) save it both to your hard drive (initially) and then copy to DVD.

Best you have a look-see as it were, rather than I simply post some of them here...
