How to replace my video card driver software?

Specs: Windows XP, 512mb
I want to uninstall my video card driver. i went to device manager and then selectd the driver i want to uninstall and i clicked on uninstal. I restarted my system, at first it showing a message found new hardware(in tray), but in a couple of seconds it is automatically geting installed with the old one. i want to replace it with a new one i have. how can i do that. (i had both set of drivers, i just wan to know how to replace my video card driver).

Drivers for graphics cards usually come as a self-installing package, they should detect the old software and delete/update as required.

By the way you uninstall driver packages from ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS, if they were the manufacturers software which you installed originally.
