how to move my files from my c drives to my d drives. I

Specs: Windows XP
can u give me answer today. My c drives is full and only have 1% of space. I need to move my files to my back up d drives. Know I have an window xp laptop. and I went in to my computer and r-click and go to properties. it can up with a box with this reading SYSTEM PROPERTIES
COMPUTER NAME. READ ---TURN OFF SYSTEM ON ALL DRIVES DRIVE SETTING.
TO CHANGE THE STATUS OF SYSTEM RESTORE OR THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF DESK SPACE AVAILABLE TO SYSTEM RESTORE ON A DRIVE SELECT THE DRIVE AND THEN CLICK SETTING. i NEED TO KNOW IF I SHOULD CLICK THIS BOX. AND SELECT THE D DRIVE TO MOVE THE FILE FROM THE C DRIVES.
