How do I fix a graphic crash problem?

Specs: Windows XP
I need an EXACT walk through of how to fix the following problem:

I am using a Dell Latitude d620 to play wow and have been for over a year. (It's not a gaming computer I know, but on low settings it has worked fine in the past). Recently it's started crashing though, I don't know if I picked up some viruses or it's just getting old or my driver is out of date. Anyway, I'll load the game and then the computer will freeze for a minute and then it will load up with the whole computer graphics messed up and I have to reboot. The message is:

Ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working.

Can I get an EXACT walk through of how to fix this? And please don't say, "Update driver" because I don't know how to do that. I need a step by step, pretend like I'm 95% retarded with your instructions. Thank a lot.

Though I would say that it is not a driver issue but an overheated laptop, which has been cooking the internal components.
