I need to compress a WAV Audio file. I see the my Windos should have "Audio Compression Manager", but I cannot find it.

Any help would be great, Uncle Dewey

Lots of options.

See here or download a WAV to MP3 converter:

Windows Media Player can also do it if you have it on board.

Maybe I'm missing something. I covreted a MP3 file to a WAV file. I must have a WAV file in order to embed the file in a Powerpoint presentation. But the WAV file is too large to embed in Powerpoint so I now need to find a program that will compress the WAV file.

The "how to geek" website gives a file to convert WAV to MP3. I also have Media Player Classic, and will play a file, but I don't see how to compress a WAV file.

I don't think Media Player Classic can do WAV to MP3 conversion.

Normally to compress a WAV file it ends up as an MP3. Now that you've explained more clearly I realise you have need to keep the original WAV file type. I can't vouch for it but here is a compressor that appears to do this (see method 2):

Here's one online:
You will have to lower the quality so that it is small enough for Powerpoint.

Here's a stack more (untried):

Are you using an old version of Powerpoint?
