I have been trying to put a program from my external drive to my c drive but for some reason I can't

You're going to have to explain more clearly than that. You have another post asking which drive letter for the external - B, E or F. Try clicking on each one & see what pops up. Find your program on the drive & double click to install.

Can you see the drive in drive manager (or whatever it's called in win-10)?

Is the drive already partitioned and formatted; and is there information on it already?

Right click the Windows icon (bottom left) and you will see Device Manager listed.

Go to "This PC" and look at your drives. See what drive letter is listed for the external when you plug it into the USB socket.
