how can I fix an audio problem on my laptop

February 24, 2011 at 20:31:04
Specs: Windows XP
I have a toshiba tecra m7 and I am not getting any audio from my speakers or headphone, a yellow question mark and exclamation point appear next to Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus (Device Manager), I do not have the sofware to upgrade the driver and there is not driver installed. I downloaded a Realtek high definiton audio driver and made it my default device and still do not get any sound, also updated every other drivers. I also try uninstalling the Modem Device on high definition but it appears right back as soon as I turn my computer back on

Uninstall the generic Realtek Driver, it is the wrong driver.

Head over to Toshiba Support and download the sound driver and install...
