Please do not double post with the same problem. This forum is covered by people from all over the world - as volunteers. So one may have to wait a short while before anyone actually reads and/or answers your post.

Suggest you stick with this post and people will then hopefully offer help.

In your second post you refer to a My Passport drive - which is an external drive connected via a USB cable. Is this correct, the drive you're having problems with an external usb drive?

Presuming it is, have you tried using another usb cable?

Does the drive show up in Disk Manager (on your computer).

It is possible that your Passport drive has failed. Try looking inside it on another computer and let us know what happens.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

If this is drive in a case with a USB mini port input... They are known to fail at the USB port. Often the connector/socket is soldered to a mini motherboard; and that's pretty well the only anchor point for the socket. That anchor point is the point of weakness and failure.

It may be that drive itself is perfectly OK. One would have to open the case and remove the drive. Then using a USB-SATA (or USB-EIDE) adapter connect it the computer USB port. I think the Passport series are SATA drives.
