GT610 Graphics Card Blackout

July 4, 2014 at 02:03:33
Specs: Windows 8.11
Have ASUS P8B75-M M/bd and are trying to run a GT610-SL-1GD3-L graphics card on a win 8.11 OS. I get only a very small distorted graphic, cannot login. Have downloaded a number of drivers for the GT610, that is with the card removed, but cannot install them as the installer is looking for the card, which is not there as it cannot be installed. How do I beat this catch 22? How can I install the needed drivers?
Regards, Dave

The card must be physically in the slot before you can install it's driver, that applies to any hardware. You are wasting your time trying to install the driver with no card in the slot. That's basic common sense.

The correct driver can only be obtained from the card manufacturer's website. If it's an ASUS card, go here:

Phil, thankyou for your reply, But when the card is installed in slot then machine will not start, well at least the display all but obliterates and I cannot even login in. I have a number of drivers from ASUS, waiting to be run, but they will not install unless there is a card in slot. Catch 22.
