Specs: Windows Vista
bought new external hard drive. successfully made folders, mostly pictures. transferred itunes from
my laptop to the external hard drive to sync it w/ my ipod. as i transfer more pictures, i noticed it has slowed down, tried to disconnect the external hard drive from the laptop but no any prompt if it's safe to remove. so i decided to shutdown my laptop. when i tried connecting the external hard drive again, all my folders say they're empty. then laptop prompted, need to format drive i: to be able to use it. what should i do? do i go on formatting the drive letter it says on my laptop?

Do not format the drive. try downloading "recuva" or "pc file inspector" to your laptop and see if they are able to recover from the external drive.

Hi Teklavu...

I'm having the exact same problem - mu hard drive packed up after using Itunes...did you get anywhere with this? have you tried re-installing or updating the driver?

Cheers
