expansion drive problems

Specs: Windows Vista
I plugged in my expansion drive and nothing happened. My computer does not register that there is a new drive.

It may simply be that Windows hasn't given it a drive-letter, which happens often with external hard drives.

Go to Control Panel >Admin Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management.

Right click the horizontal ribbon which represents that drive and choose "Change drive letter & path"

Click "Change"

Select a drive letter from the drop-down box then click 'OK'.
